Here are a few Answers to the most popular Questions asked us when they were deciding to join our WMFK family.
Q. How do classes work?
A. Classes will take place on a regular schedule, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly at the same time for each class. All classes are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long and are hands-on and interactive.
Q. Do I need to work on nights and weekends?
A. We do offer birthday parties and scout science events that are often scheduled on nights and weekends – but not typically scheduled on a regular basis. You are welcome to hire a teacher to facilitate those events.
Q. How do we earn revenues?
A. Some schools cover the cost of classes for their students and are billed on a monthly basis. In other locations, parents pay for their own children to attend classes on a per class or session basis.
Q. Do I need a school facility to open my What Matters For Kids®?
A. No, that’s what we love about WMFK; we normally host our classes at local education and community based centers, so we don’t have monthly rental overhead or a brick and mortar facility to maintain.
Q. What if I run out of lesson plans?
A. That won’t happen. Currently, we have over 100 lesson plans and we continue to add new ones. If you need a lesson on a specific topic that isn’t already in our lesson bank, we’ll write one!
Q. How quickly can I start my business?
A. Quite fast. You don’t need to find rental space; so getting started could happen as quickly as 4 to 6 weeks. It’s as simple as deciding you are ready to be a What Matters For Kids® Owner, filing the necessary legal paperwork, and procuring your initial supplies and marketing materials. You’ll soon be wearing your WMFK lab coat and be teaching why Science Matters For Kids™!
Q. What training will you provide?
A. We offer a comprehensive training program to ensure that you know how to market the program, schedule with schools and education centers, as well as teach classes. All of the lessons, instructions, materials and supplies you will need have been outlined for you in our comprehensive WMFK Lesson Plans. We also host regular webinars to assist in the continued success of your business. Remember, we focus on the fun and the basics of science for kids ages 3 to 10 years of age (about 4th grade) and we make sure that you are prepared to be the Science Lady™ or Science Dude™.
Q. How will I learn all about science? I don’t have a teaching degree in science or math or anything like that.
A. It’s not about the degree. It’s about engaging kids in scientific discovery through our proprietary lesson format that makes it easy to understand and facilitate.
