I cannot emphasize enough the importance of a good teacher.-Temple Grandin
At a lecture by Dr. Temple Grandin last week in Fargo, ND, Science Matters co-creator, Julie, had an “aha” moment (similar to what many of your kids have in Science Matters classes!)
What was that “Aha!” moment you ask?
When Dr. Grandin spoke of the need to get kids participating in hands-on activities, learning to wait their turn, and recognizing the importance of learning from the experience of trial and error and making mistakes… YOU came to mind!
Yes, you, the parents of our students, because you value hands-on learning opportunities and all of those awesome skills that Dr. Grandin spoke about!
You recognize how much Science Matters!
You chose to become members of the WMFK family providing your kids with the tools and experiences for greater future success!
You rock! [insert geology joke here… 🙂 ]
Dr. Grandin spoke about her new book Calling All Minds: How to Think and Create Like an Inventor. This book is so awesome we wanted to make sure you know about it.
We also wanted you to be the first to know that we’re in the process of rolling out 3 new programs!
Do you ever hear yourself saying any of these things:
- Did you remember to say thank you?
- No, the ATM doesn’t just give us free money!
- Screentime is over, let’s play a game!
Our three new programs will improve kids’ social skills, increase their understanding of finances, and give them activity ideas to prevent the dreaded “I’m bored!”

We look forward to seeing you in class!
